Pathologist Casts Doubts Over Deepcut Suicide
A top forensic pathologist has cast doubt on claims that an 18-year-old Army recruit found dead at Deepcut Barracks had killed herself. Private Cheryl James was found with a fatal head wound on 27 November, 1995. Ballistics experts earlier told the inquest into her death at Woking Coroner's Court that "soot deposits" seen on her face and thumb were "indicative" of a close or hard contact gunshot wound.
