One-Time Beatles Drummer Andy White Dies

Scottish drummer Andy White, who stepped in to play on some of The Beatles' early tracks, has died in the US. He was chosen ahead of Ringo Starr in September 1962 to play the drums on the single versions of Love Me Do and P.S. I Love You. Glasgow-born White was paid the princely sum of £5 for his three hours of recording time and he received no royalties in the years afterwards.
