'Murdered Child May Have Bitten Through Tongue'

Ayeeshia Jane Smith's mother Kathryn Smith and stepfather Matthew Rigby, aged 22, are on trial accused of murdering the "bright, happy little girl". It was the kind of traumatic compression injury suffered by victims in serious car crashes, said medical expert Dr Kathryn Ward at Birmingham Crown Court.
