Murder Investigation At Wandsworth Prison

An inmate has been murdered at Wandsworth prison, police say. Another prisoner in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody. Wandsworth is the largest prison in Britain and one of the biggest jails in Western Europe, able to hold some 1,800 prisoners. A Prison Service spokeswoman said: "An HMP Wandsworth prisoner was pronounced dead in hospital at 8.52am on Monday 4 May.
