'Most Wanted' Man's Shooting Trial Collapses

Robert Mortby, 28, spent more than three years on the run after acquaintance Richard Walsh was blasted in the stomach at the Rose and Crown pub, Bermondsey, in July 2012. But his attempted murder trial collapsed after Mr Walsh, who is still undergoing treatment for his wounds, told jurors the man in the dock was not the one who shot him. Prosecutor Zoe Johnson QC had told the court Mortby had a "trivial" dispute with Mr Walsh over a cannabis joint a couple of weeks before the shooting.
