Migrants Picked Up From A Dinghy Off Dover

Two men thought to be migrants from Iran have been found floating in an inflatable dinghy in the English Channel. The pair alerted a passing ship with a torch and made an emergency call from a mobile phone before they were rescued about a mile from the Port of Dover. RNLI lifeboats from Dover and Dungeness were launched before the master on board P&O's passing Pride of Canterbury ferry spotted a weak light at 3.30am.
