McDonald's Faces EU Inquiry Into Tax Deals

McDonald's is the latest multi-national firm to face an EU inquiry into its tax arrangements. Competition regulators confirmed a formal investigation into whether the fast-food chain's activities in Luxembourg constitute state aid. McDonald's has been accused by campaigners of avoiding around €1bn in tax over four years by channelling revenues from its restaurants through a division based in the country.
