Man Killed As Storm Desmond Rages Through UK

A man has died and Cumbria has declared a major incident after Storm Desmond ripped through through Britain, causing widespread flooding, road closures and power cuts. The 90-year-old man was apparently blown into the side of a moving bus by a gust of wind at Finchley Central Station in North London. Bridges collapsed, rivers burst their banks and landslides were triggered as torrential rain swept through large swathes of the north of England and Scotland.
