Long-Awaited Obesity Action Plan 'Watered Down' As Govt 'Missed Opportunity'

Health campaigners have accused the Government of an "unforgivable missed opportunity" to curb childhood obesity. Health charity Action on Sugar said the long-awaited obesity action plan is so "watered down" following lobbying by food and drink manufacturers that it is doomed to fail. Government advisers had recommended bans on junk food advertising and an end to price promotions on unhealthy products.
