London-centric department weakens Greg Clark's regional plan – Labour MP

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is taking on an additional 350 staff to work on Brexit, who will predominantly be based in London.The business secretary Greg Clark’s plan to strengthen Britain’s regional economy is being undermined by his department being too London-centric, an influential MP has warned.The government’s industrial strategy is meant to help rebalance the UK’s economy and build on strengths in regions outside the capital,
