Labour's McDonnell Would Back Tax Credit U-Turn

Labour could support cuts to tax credits - if "real protection" is given to low-income families, shadow chancellor John McDonnell has said. The Labour frontbencher has written a letter calling on Chancellor George Osborne to perform a U-turn on reform plans as they stand. It comes amid a threat of rebellion among Conservatives over the Government's austerity policy.
