Labour MP Jared O'Mara resigns over historic 'offensive' online comments

Labour MP Jared O'Mara has resigned from the Women and Equalities select committee after comments he posted online surfaced.A party source confirmed Mr O'Mara stood down in front of the weekly Parliamentary Labour Party meeting of MPs, over controversial forum posts made between 2002 and 2004.Among them, the Sheffield MP suggested singer Jamie Cullum should be raped with his own piano and asked the band Girls Aloud to "come have an orgy with me".
