Johanna Konta makes Wimbledon history with quarter-final win over Simona Halep
Johanna Konta has beaten Simona Halep to become the first British woman to reach the Wimbledon singles semi-final in 39 years.The 26-year-old came from behind to claim a hard-earned 6-7 (2-7) 7-6 (7-5) 6-4 victory over the Romanian in front of a jubilant crowd on Centre Court.In doing so she has become the first British woman in the Wimbledon singles semi-finals since Virginia Wade in 1978.
