Jobs Growth Could Be Cooling Off, Says ONS

Unemployment fell and the number in work hit a new record high at the start of the year but the pace of improvement in the jobs market has eased off, official figures show. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said the number of people out of work in Britain fell by 2,000 to 1.69 million between January and March this year. Meanwhile the number of people in work rose by 44,000 to a new record of 31.5 million, taking the employment rate to 74.2%.
