Israel's embattled prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has said he will ask his parliament to grant him immunity from the corruption charges he currently faces.Mr Netanyahuis suspected ofaccepting gifts, including cigars and champagne, from wealthy businessmen and dispensing favours in return for favourable media coverage.Mr Netanyahu's announcement about the immunity means that any trial would likely be delayed until after March elections.
