Independent Newspaper Prints Final Edition

The final print edition of The Independent has been published as the newspaper moves to a digital-only format. Owners Alexander and Evgeny Lebedev announced last month that The Independent and The Independent on Sunday would cease to be printed. The Independent was launched in 1986 by a group of journalists led by Andreas Whittam Smith.
