Health warning on Britain's hottest September day since 1949

Forecasters measured a high of 32.5C (90.5F) at Kew Gardens on Tuesday, and 32.2C at Heathrow Airport. The last time temperatures reached 32C in September was in 1949. The Met Office is forecasting "hot and humid" conditions in the East of England, the South East, London and the East Midlands and has issued a level 2 heatwave alert.
