GP receptionists 'need to deal with patients more sensitively'
Receptionists could put people off seeing their doctor by inquiring about their symptoms, and need to deal "more sensitively with patients", a study has found. The survey, published in the Journal of Public Health, found that 37% of men and 43% of women dislike having to talk to a GP receptionist about their illnesses. About 42% of people said they found it difficult to get an appointment with a particular doctor or to get an appointment at a convenient time.
