Government pledges redundancy protection for parents

Pregnant women and new parents returning to work will receive greater protection from redundancy under new government plans.In proposals announced by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) on Thursday, women on maternity leave and new parents - including those returning from adoption or shared parental leaver - will receive additional safeguards from unfairly losing their jobs.The proposals argue that current legal protection against redundancy for pregnant women and
