Freed Guantanamo Briton Thanks Supporters

Shaker Aamer, the last British resident held in the US jail at Guantanamo Bay, has thanked supporters after he arrived back in Britain following his release. Mr Aamer, who claims he was subjected to 300 beatings in the camp, flew into London's Biggin Hill airport on a private plane at lunchtime. Sky sources said Mr Aamer was accompanied on the plane by Metropolitan police officers, to assist his safe return, as well as a doctor.
