Footballer Daniel Wilkinson dies after collapsing during match

A non-league footballer has died after collapsing on the pitch during a match, his club Shaw Lane have announced. Daniel Wilkinson suffered a suspected heart attack during a cup game against Brighouse Town FC on Monday night. The 26-year-old defender was treated by medics on the pitch for more than 30 minutes before being taken to Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax.
