First Named Storm Set To Bring 90mph Winds
The first storm named by the UK Met Office and Met Eireann has been upgraded, with 90mph gusts now possible in northern Scotland. The storm, named Abigail, is the first of a list of names chosen by the public for this autumn and winter. It is expected to bring gale force winds to most of Scotland and the Met Office has issued a "be aware" yellow warning from Thursday evening until Friday lunchtime.
