Firefighters pay rise offer 'simply not enough'

Firefighters have been offered a 2% pay increase for this year - and say it is the first breach in the Government's 1% cap on public sector pay rises.The Fire Brigades Union (FBU) said the proposed agreement is worth 2% on basic pay this year and a potential 3% rise starting from April 2018.FBU general secretary Matt Wrack told Sky News the offer marked a "departure from what we've seen in the public sector in recent years" but that it falls short of solving problems they have raised.
