Ex-serviceman admits trying to burgle Wayne Rooney's house

An ex-servicemen has admitted trying to burgle Wayne Rooney’s house as the Manchester United striker played in his testimonial match at Old Trafford. The alarm was reportedly triggered at the England captain's house in Prestbury, Cheshire, at about 9pm on 3 August. Robert McNamara, 24, from Scarborough in North Yorkshire, was arrested six days later.
