EU considering labelling British food to pinpoint its source

Food sold in British shops would show more detailed labelling under new rules being discussed this weekend at a food safety conference organised by the European Commission. Following the horsemeat scandal in 2013, EU rules were introduced to ensure better traceability of meat. All fresh meat must clearly state which country the animal was born, raised and slaughtered in.
