Elderly Man Severely Beaten By Robbers Dies

An 80-year-old man who was brutally beaten by robbers at his home in Maltby, Rotherham, has died in hospital. Ex-miner Tommy Ward was left for dead with a fractured skull, broken ribs and a broken jaw after a raid on his home on 1 October. He died at Rotherham Hospital on Tuesday evening, where he had been receiving treatment since the attack.
