Driver Who Mowed Down Love Rival Jailed For Life

Richard Pencott was struck head-on by an Audi A4 driven by Sam Spaven in a pre-planned hit-and-run, Nottingham Crown Court heard. Mr Pencott suffered a fractured skull, chest injuries and numerous broken bones after the force of the impact launched his bike over a 10ft-high fence as he cycled along a footpath alongside the A631. The aftermath of the attack by Spaven, 27, of Norfolk Road, Bircotes, Nottinghamshire, was caught on a dashboard camera by a passing motorist.
