Driver Admits Footballer Amputation Crash

Shaun Whiter, 27, was helping his friend Joey Abbs to change a flat tyre in Newmarket, Suffolk, when a Ford Focus hit their cars on 1 July. The Newmarket Town player had to have his legs amputated at the knee and Mr Abbs, who played football for Cambridgeshire club Soham Town Rangers, suffered a serious leg injury in the crash.
