Donald Trump: Will the Queen invite next US President for 2017 visit?

A Donald Trump state visit next year is "under consideration", Downing Street has confirmed. It could see Mr Trump stay as a guest at either Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle and receive a ceremonial welcome and attend a banquet hosted by the Queen, although no details of any visit have yet been disclosed. Mr Trump told Theresa May that his late mother, who was born in Scotland, was a "big fan" of the Queen when they spoke on the telephone after his election victory.
