Cornish pasty makers have given their culinary clout to the campaign to stay in the EU in a bid to safeguard the special status of the traditional British snack. Following the awarding of Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status by the European Commission in 2011, only pasties made in Cornwall can be called Cornish.
