Corbyn Aide Wins Labour Liverpool Mayoral Bid

Steve Rotheram has been chosen as Labour candidate for the Liverpool mayoral battle - beating former frontbencher Luciana Berger . The Liverpool MP, a close ally of Mr Corbyn, pledged to "stand up for ordinary people" as he was announced as the party's official candidate. The former bricklayer beat the current elected mayor Joe Anderson and Ms Berger, who was a member of Mr Corbyn's frontbench team until the coup last month.
