Chancellor Announces Plans To Sell RBS

Chancellor George Osborne is tonight outlining plans to sell the taxpayers' stake in RBS. The Government bailed out the bank during the 2008 financial meltdown - propping it up with £45.5bn of public money. During his annual Mansion House speech in the City, Mr Osborne will say the "decision point" has been reached, and sales of the taxpayers' 79% stake in RBS will begin in the coming months.
