Call For Military To Protect Calais Lorries

The French military should be brought in to protect British lorry drivers at Calais from "attacks and intimidation" by migrants, according to the Road Haulage Association. It repeated calls for protection after the port closed for two hours on Saturday when around 350 migrants broke through fences, with about 50 storming a P&O-operated ferry. Water cannon were fired to try to get the migrants off the boat.
