Briton Has Transfusion After Social Media Appeal

A British backpacker with a rare blood type has had a transfusion after a social media campaign for donors to come forward and save her life. Lucy Hill, who was injured in a moped accident in Thailand, remains in intensive care but is out of immediate danger. The appeal by friends and family went viral and queues of people reportedly turned up at her hospital to give the A negative type of blood she needed for a transfusion.
