Brexit: Labour rebellion on Jeremy Corbyn's Article 50 stance grows
Jeremy Corbyn is facing a growing rebellion against his stance on triggering the start of the Brexit process. Party whip Jeff Smith has said he will defy Mr Corbyn's orders and vote against triggering Article 50, the formal mechanism for leaving the European Union. The Labour leader has decided to impose a three-line whip on next week's vote in Parliament on whether Prime Minister Theresa May should be given the go-ahead to start the two-year negotiating period with Brussels.
