Boxing body BIBA backs handheld scanners to spot brain bleeds
A British boxing body is to introduce handheld scanners that can detect brain bleeds after officials saw a report on Sky News. The British & Irish Boxing Authority (BIBA) said it would be rolling out the scanners at sanctioned events in the UK and Republic of Ireland. It follows an article about the handheld devices on Sky News' digital platforms, which said they could be "massive" for boxers who risk death from professional competition".
