Boris Flushed With Pride At New 'Super Sewer'

The first of London's two new 'super sewers' has been opened by Mayor Boris Johnson after four years of construction work. The Lee Tunnel is the biggest project undertaken by the UK water industry since it was privatised in 1989. Costing £678m, it runs from Thames Water's Abbey Mills pumping station to Beckton sewage works.
