'Black Alerts' As A&E Waiting Targets Missed

Hospitals in England are still missing targets for waiting times in A&E units, latest figures show. A new report revealed a steady decline in performance against the four-hour goal in the 13-week period to 25 December. While there was a slight improvement in the week running up to Christmas Day, this was put down to reduced demand because of the festive season.
