Balancing The Books: MPs Back Budget Surplus

MPs have backed committing governments to running a budget surplus in a key vote on Chancellor George Osborne's economic policy. Shadow chancellor John McDonnell had originally supported it but he announced on Monday he had changed his position - just 48 hours before the vote. Mr McDonnell told Sky News that 20 Labour MPs had abstained.
