Amber Alert As Storm Gertrude Heads For UK

The Met Office has issued an amber warning for Storm Gertrude which is due to arrive on Friday and is predicted to bring more heavy rain and winds gusting up to 90mph. The alert means "be prepared" for high winds in Northern Ireland, Scotland and north-west and north-east England. Parts of the British Isles are also forecast to see snow and ice as extreme winter weather continues.
