12 fire crews tackle central Manchester apartments blaze

The public is being urged to steer clear of a fire that has broken out in a 12-storey apartment building in central Manchester, leaving at least one person hurt.There are 12 fire crews fighting the flames on the ninth floor of the building in Joiner Street, which is inside the city's Northern Quarter.The City's Ambulance Service has a hazard area response unit and six ambulances attending.
