Waitrose rolls out "scan as you shop" Quick Check mobile app

Waitrose has released a new barcode-scanning smartphone app designed to speed up the checkout process for its customers.
The Quick Check 'scan as you shop' app, available on both Android and iOS devices, replaces the handheld scanners the upmarket grocery chain has previously used in store.
Customers must attach their myWaitrose loyalty card and connect to in-store WiFi for the app to work. They then complete their shop as normal, scanning the barcode of each item with their phone's camera.
