Quartz has created its own economic index to track the changing global economy

Quartz has created an economic index complete with eight indicators that it says will give readers a new way to follow and understand the changing global economy.
Sponsored by Blackrock iShares, the Quartz Index doesn’t include typical economic indicators like unemployment rates and monthly jobs reports. It instead focuses on more modern economic trends, including the number of bitcoin transactions per day, Hong Kong retail sales, and the number of monthly active Facebook users.
