Attacks on fire crews condemned

Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service (TWFRS) has repeated concerns about an increase in anti-social behaviour, as an incident at the weekend becomes the latest in a recent spate of attacks on fire crews.
In the last six weeks there have been 11 attacks on firefighters, nine of which took place over the bonfire period.
The latest incident happened on Friday night (25 November) in Newcastle, when a crew came under attack from youths throwing missiles at their vehicle.
