My collectable Austin Ambassador car is ‘not worth repairing’

RAC’s made a ‘ridiculous’ decision over a quote for this rare model as it’s a classicMy classic car – a 1982 Austin Ambassador, of which there are only 17 left in the country – broke down. When the RAC picked it up, the drivers failed to strap it to the trailer properly and it fell off, accidentally damaging it.The RAC admitted fault and asked for a quote for the work. My garage quoted £1,200, which is reasonable given this is a rare car. Apart from the
