8×8 Finds 52% Blame CIOs for AI Errors

More than half (52%) of technology leaders say CIOs are held accountable when an AI agent makes an error, according to new research commissioned by 8×8.The survey, conducted by Censuswide in July 2026, questioned 2,501 CIOs and CTOs across the UK, US, France, Australia and the Republic of Ireland about the challenges surrounding AI adoption.CIOs were held accountable more often than other functions, with 16% pointing to customer service leadership and 6% to legal or compliance teams.Samuel
