ZF starts making new eight-speed, dual-clutch transmissions

ZF has celebrated the official production start of its eight-speed dual clutch transmission (8DT), developed jointly with Porsche, at the Brandenburg plant. It's a hybrid transmission modular kit based on a new DCT transmission for standard and all-wheel drives. ZF has spent about EUR100m (US$112.591m) on  a flexible production system to make the system.
