UK average new car CO2 up in 2017

New figures released today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show that carbon tailpipe emissions from new cars have risen for the first time since 1997, with new cars averaging 121.04g/km in 2017, up 0.8% on 2016. Last year, UK new car CO2 emissions fell for the 19th consecutive year and this is the first year the figure for new cars has risen since records began.
