The 911 GT2 RS lapped the Nurburgring in 6:47.3, with Porsche claiming the record for a 'road-approved' sports carPorsche has claimed a new Nurburgring lap record for a ‘road-approved sports car’ in a 911 GT2 RS, setting a time of 6:47.3.
The new benchmark is almost five full seconds faster than the 6:52 set by the Lamborghini Huracan Performante earlier in 2017, but is just shy of the 6:45.9 posted by the all-electric NextEV NIO EP9 back in May.
