Diesel car sales plummet in EU in Q1

Data released by ACEA shows that Q1 sales of diesel engine passenger cars (1,574,333 units) in the European Union declined by 17% on last year's pace. Diesel sales are continuing to fall across the region amid uncertainty concerning future regulatory regimes in the wake of adverse publicity for diesel related to toxic emission levels and VW's dieselgate affair.
